Protos was established in 1988 by Phil and Nicky Fussell. Phil brought with him a wealth of experience from his years as a mechanical engineer at Colodense during the 1970s and 80s, where he was involved in introducing the bag-in-box - a new form of liquid packaging - to the UK from Australia in 1980.
What started as a distribution business quickly evolved into a specialist converter of flexible packaging films. Over three decades, we have built our reputation on quality products, excellent service, and a genuine enthusiasm for finding solutions to customers' packaging problems - an ethos that Phil instilled and which remains at the heart of everything we do today.

Our Facility
Our conversion, warehouse, and administration facilities are all housed under one roof at our premises in Sharpness, Gloucestershire. This integrated setup allows us to maintain control over quality and lead times whilst offering the fast, flexible service our customers rely on.
As a UK manufacturer, we're not dependent on lengthy import lead times. We hold substantial stock of base films and can turn around custom orders in weeks rather than months. When you need to react quickly to changing demand, we can respond.
